Check-Ups
Seeing the dentist at regular intervals prevents the development of dental disease. Depending on your caries risk, a check up will be required every 3 months or every 6 months. Check-ups are normally accompanied by x-rays in order to be able to diagnose early dental disease.
Dental Hygiene
In areas which are difficult to clean with a toothbrush, accumulation of plaque results in the formation of calculus. If left in the mouth, calculus leads to gum inflammation which in turn leads to periodontal disease. If left untreated, periodontal disease can lead to the loss of teeth.
Restorative Treatment
Dental caries is a dental disease that can be diagnosed and treated at an early stage. This will prevent pain and extensive tissue damage. Our goal is to treat dental caries with minimum pain and using modern materials and techniques. We aim to provide our patients with restorations that mimic the natural tooth appearance whilst improving chewing function.
Cosmetic Treatment
Crowding and spaces between teeth in the anterior region can be corrected using minimally invasive techniques. A smile redesign can be done using minimally invasive procedures such as the injection moulding technique. This allows an improvement in the aesthetics without having to reduce tooth tissue using composite. Porcelain veneers can also be a treatment option to enhance your smile but in this case, some tooth tissue reduction is necessary.
Replacement of Missing Teeth
Missing teeth may be replaced using either a removable or a fixed prosthesis. Removable dentures need to be removed at night and also need to be cleaned. They can be made using acrylic or on a metal framework. The dentist will be able to prescribe the best type of denture according to your needs. A fixed prosthesis is one that can be attached to your own teeth or to implants. Fixed teeth do not need to be removed.
Endodontic Treatment
In certain cases, bacteria from extensive dental caries may enter the root canal and cause pulpitis – a condition which results in acute dental pain. Endodontic treatment aims to remove the dental pain whilst avoiding a dental extraction and keeping the tooth in place. Endodontic treatment is normally completed in two visits but in cases of dental infections, additional visits may be required.
